The Squash Melbourne Club (TSMC) compete in Club Circuit and Southern Squash League.

The Maccabi Squash Club

The Maccabi Squash Club was reestablished in 2021. Following Maccabi’s absence from the Squash circuit they have returned with a bang and are always looking to expand! Maccabi want to return to where they were in their prime at the top of the Squash game.

The journey to find a permanent home for Maccabi Squash has been long and challenging. In 2024 Squash Melbourne became their dedicated squash venue. Justin Fulop says, “Squash Melbourne offers top-tier facilities that will significantly benefit our members, providing the ideal environment for the sport.”

They currently have two teams competing in the Southern Squash League (SSL) and play out of Squash Melbourne. They are also establishing a social club for those unable to commit to weekly games.

Maccabi have a newly established world-class racquetball team. This idea was initially suggested by Anthony Hain, and what started as an interesting concept has now grown into a team competing in the top division.

For those unfamiliar with racquetball, the sport is similar to squash but with a few key differences. Players use a larger ball and racquets with shorter handles, and the rules allow the ball to bounce off the ceiling as well as the walls. This fast-paced game is engaging and accessible, making it a great addition to our club.

Maccabi train every Monday night from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Squash Melbourne, with 4 dedicated courts available. Whether you’re interested in social games or serious training for competitions, their  coaches John Gould and Anthony Hain will be there to guide you.

Maccabi accept all types of players and you can be a veteran of the game or even a rookie!

Visiting teams in the Club Circuit competition are invited to enjoy a sit down meal and drinks after the matches are played, developing a great camaraderie amongst teams and ensuring comprehensive post-mortems of the evenings play!

Home and away matches are played one evening a week over 15 weeks plus finals  with a 6.30pm start.

The cost for the season is approximately $45 per week which covers game fees and dinner. Drinks are payable on the night. The team captain manages the finances. You will need to be a member of the Victorian Squash and Racquetball Association and a member of TSMC.
